Happy Eyes

Happy eyes...

Once, there was a girl with happy eyes.
A 20-something, full of dreams and wild ambition.
She stood at the edge of her life, waiting for the world to unfold before her feet.
She couldn't wait to explore it all—
To be a wife, a mother, a conqueror of her destiny.
The thought of love made her heart race,
and the future seemed to sparkle with endless possibilities.

When people looked at her, they saw it too—
That glow in her eyes, the one that whispered joy,
the calm serenity that only excitement for life can bring.
Her happiness was a reflection of her hope,
a light that spread to everyone she met.

But life happened.
The kind of life that doesn’t ask permission before it changes you.
Days that brought unexpected storms,
nights that left her clutching her heart, wondering how it could feel so heavy.
The world, once full of endless wonder,
now seemed more uncertain, more fragile.

And though she still smiled, and though she still carried joy in her soul,
her eyes changed.
That sparkle, once bright with untainted hope,
had dimmed, softened into something quieter, something sadder.
Her eyes still glowed, but it was a different kind of light—
one touched by the weight of experience, the ache of lessons learned.

People still saw the warmth in her, the kindness,
but now, they also saw the sadness tucked behind those happy eyes.
A quiet knowing.
She still longed for love, for a future filled with all the things she dreamed of,
but now, she understood—
life was more complex than the girl she used to be could have imagined.

Yet, even with sad eyes, she was still her.
She still laughed, still danced, still dreamed.
But her glow, though different, still shone.
It wasn’t the brightness of untouched joy,
but the deep, steady light of someone who had walked through her own darkness
and found her way back to herself.

Her happy eyes, now layered with sadness,
told a fuller story.
And though life had changed her,
she was still here—still hoping, still waiting to conquer the world
with her glowing, sad but resilient, eyes.

Authentically,

Tam
